Jill Roberts Appointed As The New CEO/President of Foundation Beginning September 1, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC—William F. Alden, CEO/Chairman of the DEA Educational Foundation, is proud to announce the appointment of Jill L. Roberts as the new CEO/President of the Foundation beginning September 1, 2020. Jill was the unanimous choice of the Board of Directors. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President for the DEA Educational Foundation overseeing all of the foundation’s youth after-school programming and plays a key role in routine foundation operations, budget, and strategy. Jill will be replacing William F. Alden as the CEO and be responsible for the day to day operations of the foundation. Mr. Alden will remain as Chairman of the Board of Directors and be responsible for oversight of the board as well as assisting in fundraising activities.


Jill has a long and accomplished history in youth programming. She founded and managed the D.A.R.E. Dance Program and directed all after-school programming and the National Youth Advisory Board for D.A.R.E. America for many years prior to coming to the DEA Educational Foundation.


Ms. Roberts graduated from Georgetown University in 1995. During her time at Georgetown, she co-directed the Georgetown University Dance Company and choreographed several university theatrical productions. After graduation, Jill worked full-time as a director in the School of Business all while teaching children and adults and holding artistic director and board positions at local professional dance studios in Washington, D.C. During this time Jill also volunteered to develop a stretch/movement program for patients and staff at the Lombardi Cancer Center.


Jill has been recognized for her volunteer work over the years. In 2009 she was the recipient of the “President’s Call to Service Award” under President Obama and has volunteered at her children’s school as the Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Corpus Christ School PSA Board. Jill also remains an advisor for Arts For All, Inc. in New York City.


Mr. Alden said, “Jill will continue to lead the DEA Educational Foundation to new heights. She is creative and passionate about ‘making a difference’.”


Ms. Roberts resides in Southern California with her husband, a documentary filmmaker, and her two children.
