The DEA Educational Foundation invites you to attend an evening honoring the Honorable John C. Lawn, recipient of the 2010 DEA Educational Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. Jack is receiving this Award in recognition of his decades of leadership and commitment to drug law enforcement, drug abuse prevention, and drug treatment.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010, in Washington, DC at the JW Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. VIP Reception is at 6PM, followed by the Dinner & Program at 7PM.

Mr. Lawn was nominated in 1985 by President Ronald Reagan and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the third Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration. He previously had been nominated by Attorney General William French Smith, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Deputy Administrator of DEA.

In March of 1990, Mr. Lawn retired after twenty seven years of Government service. At that time, President George W. Bush, at a White House ceremony, presented him with the President’s Medal, the nation’s highest award for civilian service.

Mr. Lawn continues to be an advocate for the men and women of DEA, providing unwavering support for their mission.
