I have the distinct privilege of serving the DEA Educational Foundation in its efforts to underscore the dangers of drug abuse in terms that students, teachers and children can understand. It is my responsibility to develop and maintain essential relationships with individuals, corporations and foundations in order to enhance financial support for the DEA Educational Foundation.
Through the years, friends who have believed in the mission of the Foundation have taken action to allow our goals to flourish. Contributions, both large and small, have advanced the Foundation’s ability to enrich the many programs of the DEA Museum, which serve to educate the American public on the history of drugs, drug abuse and drug law enforcement, prevention, treatment and recovery, in innumerable ways.
Every exhibit and outreach program of the DEA Museum, both locally and nationally, is about education. Through this education, it is our hope to encourage young people to avoid the pitfalls of drug addiction that has claimed so many Americans in the past two centuries. Since the Museum’s first exhibit opening in 1999, through our current Target America: Opening Eyes to the Damage Drugs Cause exhibit at the Old US Mint in New Orleans, LA, more than twenty-million visitors have benefited from the generosity of our dedicated supporters. Yet much more can be done with your help.
Whether you choose to make an unrestricted gift in support of our Annual Fund, a Leadership gift to one of our emerging initiatives, or a gift from your estate, you can be assured that your support will make a difference. Gifts to the DEA Educational Foundation provide the financial stability that allows the DEA Museum to design, develop and implement exceptional exhibits in support of our combined mission of fighting drug abuse through education.
I hope you take a few minutes to browse our website to learn about the various avenues of fundraising support, and the impact your gifts have on our ability to open eyes to the myriad costs of illegal drugs to individuals, American society, and the world. Our goal is to be a continuing force for promoting a very powerful message of the health, environment, safety, and family impacts of drug use. Your generosity allows us to set priorities and act on them in a timely fashion and I encourage you to participate in any way you can.
